This is definitely not suitable for someone that doesn't have any programming experience. He uses technical terms right from the beginning. I wanted to teach python to myself but I've had to rely on my husband (software engineer) to teach these things. He even looked at the book and said there was no way a beginner could use it. You would be much better off using the many free resources online.
It's ok. If I'd paid full price, I'd probably only give it three stars (average), but given I only paid a few bucks on a Kindle sale, I gave it the extra star for the value I received. The book covers similar material you'll find in other newbie books. The visual representations are a nice addition. But I wouldn't say it suddenly makes the learning process seamless. There's still a lot of memorization and repeated practice involved to become competent with any computer language. I'll concede it's probably a little easier to digest than other Python books. But that may be because it covers very basic material. The hard stuff in Python is still hard, imo. But it's a relatively quick read, and I didn't feel like I wasted my time.
I have not finished reading this but it is very simple and easy to understand. I have learned a lot about python and how to use it. I am no pro and you ill not be ether just from reading this. Computer programing is not the easiest thing and there is still a lot to learn but his is a good place to start. I am always looking to learn something new this this book has been doing that for me. I recommend it for beginners. I did receive this product at a discount for an honest review.
Great book to get your feet wet and feel confident about diving deeper into Python. I think this book works best for people who already know a language and want a firm foundation. Then when you choose to focus on what you want to do with Python you can get a "complete ...." book that can be used for a reference. For example, I want to specialize more into network programming with Python so now I will get an advanced book on the subject.
Python is a great way to learn programming. Python is not that simple but with a visual learning experience than someone can learn fast.Python is a high level language that is easy to understand because of the way it is organized. I really recommend this book if someone is wanting to learn how to program in python.
Just too basic and not enough for a quick reference. Maybe just an incentive or motivation for someone who have never had a computer programming language before. May fit for a managerial person who is curious about what Python is.
Well written book . covers all aspects with examples. Quizzes and exercises makes one to be through with the concepts.
Exactly what I need now! It gives you clear instructions and easy to learn. I cannot wait to use python to code analyses data or other stuff.
